This plein-air watercolor painting was done at Mississippi River State Park in Arkansas. Near the Visitor's Center is a large pool of water, that on this particular day, was reflective, but with hardly a ripple anywhere. The air was very, very still and the landscape seemed to fade into its own reflection. The sky was a thin greenish blue causing the still waters to reflect with a slightly greenish blue hue. The old stump near the center of the painting added to the visual interest of the scene. This painting is calm and serene.
